Sophie Scholl's Beginning:
Sophie Scholl was born on May, 9th of 1921 in Forchtenberg. Being the fourth of six children she grew up as a Christian being carefree and happy. Everything changed when Hitler became powerful in 1933, while Sophie and her family were unaffected by the change they were highly critical of the Nazis’ and their behaviors. When she was twelve she joined a Nazi organization called the “League of German Girls”. First she enjoyed the club but later became skeptical as two of her Jewish friends were not allowed in. After these incidents she really understood the extent of the discrimination against the Jews. In 1937, after experiencing her brother and his friends being arrested for being associated with the German Youth Movement it left a great impression finalizing her opinion on the Nazis. In 1941, after being forced into the auxiliary war service as a nursery teacher she wanted to make a stand by getting involved in passive resistance against Hitler and the Nazis. This later lead to her joining the White Rose to accompany her brother Hans in fighting against Hitler.
